He is known for his contributions to the surf and skateboarding communities through his artistic work, which often explores the culture, lifestyle, and aesthetics associated with these activities.
Sebastien Zanella’s recent years have been marked by collaborations with some of the most prestigious brands in the industry. Notably, he worked on a book in partnership with Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, documented the global journey of perfume master Jacques Cavalier for Louis Vuitton, directed commercials for Hermes, Maison Alaïa, and more.
Amidst these endeavors, Zanella has continued his personal mission of capturing the essence of “outsiders outside”.

Accompanied each day by Sébastien Zanella, you will experience the artist’s daily life, a journey that will lead you to engage in experiments involving movement through photography or its practice,
From creating a book, improving your photography and filming skills, to finding your unique style or a deeper spiritual connection to your creativity, Desillusion Soul based by Sébastien Zanella will transform the way you see the world.
Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary Islands, lies approximately 62 miles (100 kilometers) off the coast of Morocco in the Atlantic Ocean.
Accessible by a roughly three-hour flight from every major European capital, it stands as one of the most diverse islands globally. From its towering volcanic peaks to verdant forests, dramatic cliffs, and pristine golden beaches, Tenerife provides limitless opportunities for self-discovery and inspiration.
Only four workshops available for a limited group of five
Over the course of one week, participants will join a group of passionate artists, whether amateur or professional, to explore the beauty of Tenerife island with Sebastien Zanella.
The goal is to use photography or filming to discover and express your unique voice, one that will distinguish you from the crowd and enable you to connect with others, sharing your perspective on the world.
Each day will include action or lifestyle photoshoots, followed by time for feedback and daily editing.
There will also be opportunities for relaxation and discovery, such as learning to surf or engaging in other educational activities.
On the final day, participants will come together to review the work created during the week, envisioning how their future work will unfold.
DON’T FORGET:
- A selection of around 30 images showcasing your practice (preferably in paper format / format of your choice)
- Your camera with charger and cable
- 2 to 3 memory cards, possibly a hard drive (Mac compatible), and your computer.
- If you have: a wetsuit and an underwater camera. Otherwise, it will be provided for you.

Daily feedback will be provided directly at his house, where you will share moments with his family, experience his lifestyle, and gain a deeper understanding of his worldview.
Accommodation is not included, a series of Airbnb rentals ranging from more luxurious options to hotels will be provided. All accommodations are within walking distance from Zanella’s home.
Food is not included, but dining options and restaurants in the Canary Islands are known to be affordable.
